Reworked Sketch - Dragon Prince

Can't remember the difference between dragons, drakes, and wyverns right now, so I'll go with dragon.  Anyway:

Took me a while, but I finally was able to revisit it.  The basic premise is that a prince has draconic ancestry in his blood (from his draconic father), but he's not aware of it and has largely been taught that any accusation is basically a myth.

At some point in the future, the palace is having people visit from a ton of different countries, including the princess above.  She was originally reluctant to come and looking rather glum, so the prince tried to engage her a bit and make her smile.  This turned into engaging her a lot and a full back and forth with one trying to get the other to laugh first.  She was the first to make him slip up and forget most of his jokes, but his confusion made her laugh.

It's at about this point that we forego the part where the royal family is in a meeting with the council after the nights events and the council betrays the family, and reveals the princes true draconic heritage.  He got light headed and they were able to transport him to a dungeon.  The princess got clued in that some chaos was going on in the castle and was able to find enough info to track down the prince.  There she finds the prince in his draconic form.

It was fun to finally color this and great to have it done. =w=  I got cold feet thinking about the coloration, but thankfully I was finally able to move past that (and find some inspiration for the gals dress, where I looked at some hindi dress patterns for reference).  It was also fun to create the backgrounds as well.  The dungeon was obviously the easiest, and I was able to play with the idea of it being open on top, with the moonlight showing in.

Hopefully this means I have some forward momentum for more pieces.  I got a lot to do over break. ;>w>
